The topic for the quick draw today was a value study on clouds. This really pushed me to think value, value, value. I always got in a rut with my drawings and paintings where i would noodle around too much trying to get the perfect shape and outline of whatever it was i was drawing. But today, i took a bold step in my growth as a painter, to not draw anything. i went straight to painting. I loved this study. i will do it again. I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I did.

Nice clouds Al. I like the top one the best. more contrast and soft curves against a few straights.
These are beautiful, Al! I love the light rays on the bottom clouds. You should be a lighter or something! oh, wait...
Nice job Alan! These are pretty successful if you ask me. It definitely looks like you were able to detach from the whole literal drawing thing.
